Three Signs You Need to Start Looking at New Tires

New & Used TiresAs a vehicle owner, putting new tires on your car is just something you have to do every once in a while. However, if you aren’t sure if you should start looking at our selection of new tires at Joyce Automotive, here are a few easy ways to tell.

  1. Tread Wear- One of the best ways to check the tread wear of your tires is with the old-school penny test. To perform this test, take a penny and place it into the tread of one of your tires with Lincoln’s head pointing down. If you can still see the top of his head, the tread of your tires is extremely low, and it’s time for new tires.
  1. Vibrations- Do your tires feel like they vibrate or thump when you drive down the road? If this vibration feels like it’s coming from the steering wheel, there could be problems with your car’s suspension. However, if the vibration feels like it’s coming from the area underneath the seats, it’s probably a good time to start looking at new tires.
  1. Bulges or Cracks- When a tire starts to deflate, the sides of it will begin to bulge, which is often a sign that you have a slow leak. In addition to bulges, it’s a good idea to have us take a look at your tires if you see anything that looks a little bit odd. We’ll give you our honest opinion about whether you need to browse our selection of new tires.
